Overview
Developing a bespoke online platform for a prestigious art gallery.
The brief
Despite its long history as one of North East England’s most celebrated contemporary galleries, the Grundy Art Gallery has rarely promoted itself, and was keen to publicise its current and future events as well as archiving its impressive past.
Our approach
We began by spending time with the Grundy’s curator to understand both where the gallery has come from, and its exciting vision for the future. With few marketing materials and an outdated identity, we set out to create a website that would become the gallery’s main marketing platform.
The end result
Putting the web at the heart of the Grundy’s communications meant crafting an identity that would thrive online. Everywhere designed a contemporary identity that reflects both the Grundy’s past and its direction, designed to work beautifully on-screen. The site is as bold as the gallery itself, and a bespoke content management system makes it easy for Grundy to archive past events or create in-depth content highlighting what’s coming up. A tailored email marketing programme was also developed to promote events simply and effectively.
